Case study 6 – Glen Care
A year after GHRS were contacted by Glen Care to recruit eight senior director posts, GHRS were contacted once again by Glen Care’s Chairman. The previous Managing Director had moved on to a new organization and Glen Care urgently required a high calibre CEO who could take the Company successfully into a new phase of expansion, as well as being able to consolidate the existing business.
Successful CEOs are very difficult to find within the forensic mental health industry, specifically because the private forensic mental health market is relatively new. This results in CEOs with limited experience and also means that there are few high calibre individuals who could step up into a CEO post.
Due to GHRS’s established candidate network, a high level individual from a competing healthcare company was straight away identified who could meet the business objective. As a result, a series of meetings were arranged to first establish that both parties were in agreement with GHRS’s choice.
Once both parties were in agreement and wanted to move forward, GHRS arranged a series of meetings to negotiate a package which was affordable for Glen Care and would adequately compensate the new CEO. The negotiations became very challenging and it took three months to come to a successful conclusion.
As a result of GHRS selecting the perfect candidate for Glen Care, the Chairman has since been able to semi-retire after managing the Company for 30 years.
